How does one-time download work?

When enabled, the link becomes invalid after the first successful decryption and download, preventing repeated access.

What happens when the link expires?

The link becomes invalid and cannot be used to access the file, even with the correct password.

Should I send the password with the link?

No. Always share the password through a separate channel (phone, text, different app) for maximum security.
